Job Summary

Surgical Technician, Operating Room Specialty. This travel position supports an adult acute care operating room with a broad range of surgical specialties, including bariatric, orthopedic, neurological, gynecological, general, colorectal, urological, vascular, thoracic, plastic, ophthalmic, and endovascular procedures. The role requires strong knowledge of surgical equipment and participation in scheduled call coverage and weekend assignments.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekends and scheduled call coverage are required.
• Required Qualifications: Certified surgical technologist or military-trained surgical technologist; Basic Life Support (BLS), National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), and American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) certifications; compact license in hand at submission; at least 1 year of relevant experience; prior travel experience; broad knowledge of surgical equipment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Level I trauma experience and experience caring for neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents.
• Additional Information: The position supports advanced oncology surgical cases and adult specialties such as bariatrics, orthopedics, podiatry, neurosurgery, ear, nose, and throat procedures, oral and maxillofacial surgery, gynecology, general surgery, colorectal surgery, urology, hepatobiliary surgery, plastics, ophthalmology, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, organ harvest, and endovascular procedures. Responsibilities include supporting procedures such as abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, hysterectomy, spinal fusion, joint replacement, robotic surgery, laparoscopic procedures, vascular repair, tracheostomy, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Weekday and weekend standby call coverage is required on a rotating basis. Three of five designated holidays may be required.
