Fleet Manager IAs a member of Team CRST, you'll be part of one of the nation's largest privately held transportation and logistics companies – this year celebrating its 70th anniversary. Every mile reflects our tenacious commitment to over-deliver, exceed customer expectations and uphold the highest standards of safety and service.The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a fleet of trucks. Their main task is to ensure the fleet is well-maintained, meets legal requirements, and is operated efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize costs. They are responsible for managing and developing relationships with drivers to increase overall driver satisfaction and to improve driver retention. They also work closely with drivers to coordinate deliveries and ensure they arrive at their destination on time. Communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential to succeed in this role. These roles will support our partnerships with Home Depots in the area.Shift: This is a work from home position available in one of the following cities. Travel will be required two days a week doing store and driver visits in the market. Your first two weeks will consist of required training in Detroit, MI.Compensation: $65,000 Starting Wages (Pay Bi-Weekly) *A final amount is dependent on factors including prior relevant experience, knowledge, and location. Typically, selected candidates are hired at a rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Driver Management – Oversee a team of drivers to ensure exceptional customer service delivery and fleet profitabilityCustomer Service – Perform all aspects of dedicated customer support including load booking and service failure resolutionOperational Planning – Manage daily scheduling of equipment and drivers to maximize utilizationCross-Functional Communication – Serve as liaison between customers, drivers and internal departments to ensure smooth operationsDriver Relations – Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers to enhance performance and support retention effortsAuthorization – Approve pay-related items in alignment with company policySafety Compliance – Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are consistently followedPerformance Tracking – Assist in the development and management of customized KPIs to monitor and achieve performance goalsAccountability & Reliability – Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needsRequired Qualifications:Previous driver manager experience1 year of experience in transportation/logistics1 year experience in dispatchingPreferred Qualifications:Associate's degree1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics1-2 years of experience in dispatching1-2 years of experience with customer relationshipsIdeal Experience & Skill Set:Complex Problem Solving and Critical ThinkingSocial PerceptivenessJudgement and Decision MakingOperations and MonitoringService OrientationTrouble shooting and NegotiationDid You Know?CRST is one of the largest privately owned trucking companies in the United States.
