Boiler OperatorCoushatta Forest Products is looking for Boiler Operators in Coushatta, Louisiana. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Boiler Operator to join our facility operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe startup, operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of high- or low-pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment. You will track operating parameters, perform water treatment and testing, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive approach to safety, and the proper training.Responsibilities:Perform standard Boiler Operator operations for the sawmill, including startup and shutdown procedures, product changes, in-process adjustments, and equipment maintenanceOperate the boiler safely and efficiently while supporting production and unit-cost goals, including fuel and electrical consumption, or recovery, and other consumablesAdjust Boiler and equipment controls and maintain appropriate temperatures and airflow to ensure products meet published specificationsMaintain accurate Boiler operation logsMonitor bin levels and product flow to maintain consistent operationsLoading sawdust into the boilerOperate and monitor boiler systems to ensure proper functioningPerform routine inspections and maintenance on boilersMonitor gauges, meters, and controls to ensure optimal performanceAdjust controls and valves as needed to maintain desired operating conditionsTroubleshoot and repair boiler malfunctions or breakdownsMaintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance, and repairsFollow safety protocols and maintain a clean work areaReview control charts, audits, OSHA regulations, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocolsOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent1 -3 years of experienceKnowledge of Boiler operations and mechanical systemsFamiliarity with industrial maintenance practices and proceduresAbility to read and interpret technical manualsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong skills for interacting with other team membersPractical knowledge and application of basic safety practices and use of power toolsAbility to work with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform accurate measurements and maintain detailed recordsPhysical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle moderate physical activityExperience working in forestry, logging, or timber environmentsWork setting:Onsite In-person role (Required)Hours of Work:Various Schedules/Shifts needed including; Night/Days/weekends and occasional overtime as neededBenefits:Medical and Prescription InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityHealth insuranceSupplemental Life insuranceCritical Illness InsuranceLife and Accidental InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program(EAP)401K W/Company MatchPaid time off(PTO)Work Environment Manufacturing Plant Physical Demands:Outside Sawmill/Plant Location.
